24 Hours in Zurich, solo.

With any cheap flight comes a long layover. This time, in Zurich, Switzerland. I had 24 hours and no plans...just a one night hostel reservation, a carry-on, and a few Swiss Francs to spend.

Right out of my hostel, I ran into a medieval festival! What are the odds...

Like I do in any European city, I tagged along on a free city walking tour. Our tour guide, a Chilean woman that had moved to Switzerland first for college, and later for love, gave us the ins and outs of Zurich's history and what it has to offer.

The receptionist at the hostel recommended I walk down to the river for a swim. Switzerland brags of having Europe's purest waters...and they're not wrong.

Even though eating out in Switzerland can get pricey, I couldn't pass up trying the traditional food. Swiss Chuchi, thank you for taking all my money.

Oh, the stories shared over this Moscow Mule... Traveling solo gifts you with the most random conversations!
