Libreria Acqua Alta

This bookshop is unlike anything I've ever seen. It is designed for "Acqua Alta", or high waters, so that when Venice floods, all books stay safe. Its rambling rooms are flooded to the brim with books on just about anything! They're stacked along the walls, in bathtubs, and even in a gondola in the main room. My friend, Brankia, is studying architecture in Venice and was in search of a specific book he needed for class. He asked the owner, Luigi Frizzo, if he could help find it. To my surprise, Luigi knew exactly where to look in his organized chaos.
